Get ready to experience the ultimate thrill of the open road with The Wild Buggers. Based in beautiful Cape Town, we are a brotherhood of enthusiasts dedicated to the beach buggy lifestyle and the unmistakable roar of a VW air-cooled engine.

Our club was built on a simple foundation: the love for these iconic machines and the freedom they represent on the South African roads. As the most active Beach Buggy Club in South Africa, we don’t just own these cars; we drive them.

What We Are About: If you are looking for high-speed racing or a pub crawl, you’re in the wrong place. We’re about simple, honest fun. Our official club runs take place every 2nd Sunday of the month, with unofficial “in-betweener” runs scattered in between. From early morning breakfast runs to legendary weekend camping trips, the Wild Buggers spirit is found in every kilometer we travel together.

Why Join Our Air-Cooled Family? Whether you are a veteran driver or just getting started with your first Baja Bug, our club is the perfect place to share technical advice, find spare parts, and enjoy a great social life. We welcome all VW classics, VW Beetles, and air-cooled enthusiasts.

Think You’ve Got What It Takes? We don’t just give our colours to anyone—you’ve got to earn them! Newcomers are always welcome to join the convoy, but you’ll need to survive 2 or 3 runs with the family first to see if you can handle the fun before you officially join the ranks. It’s all about the gees and the garage days where our weekend warriors help each other keep these classic VWs on the road.
